Poor Moose
I'm making Christmas postcards for my friends and family this year. This is the art for them. There's really no purpose behind the drawing. The idea just popped into my head and it made me chuckle.

Heat Miser and Peanut M and M
My uncle Kevin's 39th birthday was this past Wednesday. We had a surprise party for him this year because we knew he'd expect something on his 40th. So, I asked his wifey who his two favorite characters were so that I could draw a picture for him and these were the guys she said he liked. So, here they are for your viewing pleasure. Mr. Heat Miser and the Peanut M&M.
Merry Christmas!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I drew this a while ago. It took me a while to submit it because I was trying to figure out how to color it. Javier Burgos Arroyo (Javas) has a really sweet coloring technique, but it really didn't seem to fit my drawing. I think it's because I use thick lines. Anyhoo, I'm not thrilled with how the final turned out but it's ok. Let me know what you think and check out http://javasb.blogspot.com/

DJ Shwann Banner
More DJ Shwann. This time, John wanted a banner/header image for the online comic we're collaborating on. Right now, I'm working on the second strip. I'm excited because it will feature the GoGo Gadgettes. They should be fun to draw. Check 'em out at http://www.myspace.com/gogogadgettes

Hotshot Cover
Mike Watson is one of my classmates from CCAD. He created this awesome character. This is a mock/hypothetical cover for the comic.
If this looks familiar, it's because it's an homage to Mike Deodato's lineart from the Spiderman #528 cover.
*UPDATE: Mike just told me, after seeing the cover, that it will be the official cover for Hotshot Issue #6! WOOT!

Chinese Zodiac
So, I was at an Indian/Chinese lunch buffet with my boss the other day, and on my placemat were these really cool, cut-paper-looking symbols/icons of the animals within Chinese Zodiac. I'm not into astrology or The Signs of the Zodiac at all, but I did think it'd be cool to design my own symbols/icons of the 12 animals.
For me, this piece really wasn't about subject-matter. Although I do like drawing animals a lot, it was more of a study in the creation and execution of a set/series of like images. My favorite assignments in art college were when we had to create lots of mini images that all appeared together. I guess I just think there's just something cool about seeing all of your artwork lined up and lookin' purdy. One style...one palette...harmony...unity. Cool.

Kinda' hot in these rhinos!
I've always liked the way rhinos looked, and my buddy Kory Hubbell's awesome sketches inspired me to take a crack at sketching one. You can find his work at www.koryhubbell.blogspot.com. We're thinking of doing an art book together. Anyway, I wanted to exaggerate my rhino but maintain a level of realism. I plan on revisiting this drawing and have no doubts that it'll lead to a finished design/illustration.

Newb
I'm just a caveman. Your fast-paced and technologically advanced world intimidates and frightens me. Look at you all with your Twitters, and your Facebooks, and your iPhones. I'M JUST A CAVEMAN!
Sorry about the SNL reference...I couldn't help myself.
It's about time I got a blog up and running. This site will primarily be used as a portfolio site for my artwork, but I imagine that from time to time I'll share stories and post pictures of my many adventures and escapades or share random thoughts. Who knows? We'll see.
Let the games begin! As for now, as the French say, 'See you later!'
This is my latest illustration. I titled it "Her Prada sandal!"
